Weekly Prayer and Food
for Thought (2-21-2010 through 2-27-2010)
Prayer
Our father you chose us in Christ before the foundations of the earth
to be your children. We thank you for placing us here on the earth to
manifest your glory. Your kingdom come. We pray with
thanksgiving for your son president Barack Obama in accordance with 1
Timothy 2:1 that it may be well with us. We continue to pray the
blessings of Isaiah 11 and 55 on him. Father, be his strength and
wisdom and understanding in these difficult days.
Father we thank you for this new opportunity to get healthcare reform
in place in our country when the president holds the televised
bipartisan healthcare meeting on Thursday.
We look to you to intervene and make the meeting a success regardless
of the intentions of the participants.
We pray that it results in the beginning of the restoration of the
confidence of people in the federal government, that it may be well with
us; for if we continue to mistrust the government we will not receive
the blessing God has put the government in place to extend to us in
answer to our prayers..
Help us as a people to see ourselves the way you see us and not as we
imagine ourselves to be, that we may correct our ways before you; for you
are a holy God and the script you have written for creation is
permanently settled.
Help us as a people to repent of our pride in seeking our way
regardless of what the scripture says, lest your wrath falls upon us.
We lift up our congress before you and seek for help in ending the
bitter partisanship and the desire for power at all cost. We look for
both sides of the aisle to compromise; for a one-sided compromise, no
matter which party is unyielding, is no bipartisanship.
Help us as a people to see that there is a battle for power by those
who do not acknowledge you as the source of their success and wealth
and who believe it is their right to get all they can get and oppress
the less fortunate.
Open the eyes of we the people to see that we are in financial bondage
and the oppressor will continue to oppress unless we change our ways
and receive God’s way of achieving equity.
Help us to realize that if we refuse to pay taxes, the money we should
pay will cry against us. If we continue to take from the poor and give
to the rich as tax break for the rich would be, we would be cursed in
accordance with your words in Proverbs 22:16
Father we acknowledge that no military power can win a battle unless
you aligned the stars in their favour as you showed Deborah in the book
of Judges.
In addition we acknowledge that no battle is won without the angels
working on the behalf of a troop.
We also acknowledge that you have said homosexuality is an abomination
and not acceptable to you for you are a holy God. You have also
provided a way for repentance and escape from your wrath in Christ
Jesus so no one has an excuse for sin.
We consequently ask for wisdom for our military with regards to the
issue of openly gay people in the army lest our troops be accused of
blatant rebellion, the angels assigned to minister to our troops be
polluted or offended and lest the stars be aligned against us and the
earth itself abhors it spewing out our troops or even our nation as it
did to Sodom and Gomorrah and decay our nation as it is said happened
to the old Greek and Roman empires.
We continue to ask for wisdom for our president whom you have given us
that he will hear clearly from you. Help we the people to accept the
discipline that you have allowed that it may be well with us.
We continue to lift up the Obama family before you and ask for your
continued protection over them. Continue to be their security detail
and return all arrows back to the senders
Help them to continue to be good example before us. We plead the
blessings of Psalms 91 in them.
Because he is your servant father we continue to claim the heritage of
your servants in Isaiah 54 verses 15-17 for our president and his
family. Be an enemy to all the enemies of your purpose in his life, and
an adversary to all the adversaries of your purpose in his life for it
is your will, your plan and your anointing that they challenge
therefore show yourself mighty that we may be delivered as a nation
from all that plagues us..
Father prepare a table of supernatural success and blessing before him
in the presence of all those trying to make him and consequently the
nation and your purpose to fail and put them to shame because his
success is our success. Give him the kind of supernatural success that
shuts up the mouth of the enemy and that glorifies your name. Take all
the glory and let it be seen that you are the one at work and that you
honour the anointing you place on the sons of men with success that
others in public service may choose to serve as your servant too.
Father we are worried about the situation in Haiti, so much money has
been donated but it does not seem to be getting to the people. Father
we ask for your intervention in helping out these seed of Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob.
As the rainy and hurricane season approaches oh Lord have mercy so
these people are not swept away. Let the normal horrors of the
hurricane season pass over them without touching them we pray.
We continue to lift up the nation of Nigeria. Intervene in your mercy
and resolve the furious spiritual battle taking place in the heavens
over the country. For the sake of the whole world, deliver and let
peace prevail. Open the eyes of the people to understand that they are
the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and help them to turn to the God
of their fathers and Jesus Christ their messiah in truth. Help them to
realize they are a covenant people. Protect all our loved ones in the
land and keep them all safe.
We commit the security of our nation into your hands. Help the
president and his cabinet to remain calm and resolute so he does not
take decisions made out of fear but based on reason. Be with our
troops, intelligence and security forces. Give wisdom to the homeland
security and defence department and the secretaries that run them.
Father as the world reels and continues to spin uncontrollably we ask
that you build a hedge of protection around us and our loved ones. Heal
our bodies and our finances.
Father, make us a merciful people that strengthens the weak and are
kind to strangers as required by you. So we ask for successful
immigration reform that can stand for us as an act of mercy that
enables us receive from you for the cries of many affected by our anti
immigrant attitude are rising up to you against us. Help us to change
our attitude.
Father Guide our going out and coming in and that of all our loved ones
as we travel to and fro locally and internationally. Keep them and us
dwelling in your secret place and abiding under your shadow.
We commit our children into your hands and trust you to watch over them
and keep them safe at work, at school and at play. Keep them and us
healthy and away from all sickness.
Give victory and supernatural debt cancellation to those of us with
financial court cases
Father, make a way for the evangelistic ministry of the Church of the
Resurrection Bloomfield.
Open doors of opportunity for the ministry in the land.
Help our judiciary, congress, federal, state and local governments to
enact laws and policies that are pleasing to you with regards to
marriage that it may be well with us, for you gave the laws regarding
marriage to Moses directly in accordance with your blessing on mankind
in Genesis 1:26-28 which makes marriage a union that can only be
between a man and a woman.
Father we ask for continued mercy in California, as your servants
continue to defend marriage as the union of one man and one woman in
accordance with your word, that it may be well with us as a nation.
We thank you for how you are helping the children left behind by
Michael Jackson. Intervene on their behalf with regards to all these
creditor claims that are surfacing. As the case to find justice for
their father begins, intervene, choose the jury members and let there
be justice so that these children may find closure and be able to move
on into the life that you have planned for them. Help them to be
successful in whatever you have planned for their future..
As our international envoys carry out their assigned duties, empower
them to succeed. We ascribe all the glory to you. Use them in
fulfilling your plan for the earth.
We receive the answers to our prayers with thanksgiving in Jesus name.
Amen.
Food for Thought
“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away
the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to
do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless,
Plead for the widow.” “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the
LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as
snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. If you
are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; But if
you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword; For the
mouth of the LORD has spoken.” (Isaiah 1: 16-20
